OLD PHOTOGRAPH#2

In the Christmas photographs 1948
Uncle Dan Aunt Evelyn and five children
Uncle Dan a giant of a man was a benefactor too
I was named after him and he protected Mom when he could
The earth would shake in their fights
He would protect us from his drunken brother
A man six foot four and strong as any other
He and Evelyn died New Years day years apart
The day of his birth and Evelyn a broken heart
There are many stories in photograph two
Did you know one of my cousins was a Seafair Princess?
There she is that beautiful girl dark Irish hair
The next few lines will be about her
Those who know me know I don't often ask for prayers
But she is in the hospital attacked by Cancer
In 1956 I was her date in the parade car
There we are in photograph three
Skinny dude in a suit a beauty is she
I introduced her to my best friend now her husband
You see as cousins we were best friends
Let's hope a miracle not how this story ends
