In My Place

The wind rustles in the trees
and blows gently through my hair,
I hear a mailbox key rattling
I look around and see it there.

I see bushes that want to grow
and flowers yet to bloom,
I then leave that scene
and head for my room.

I look out the window
and see a car go by,
I am sitting here bored,
on my bed I soon lie.

I have three children
and yet I feel alone
they keep me busy
but oh, how they've grown.

I don't know what's missing
from a life I call my own,
my family is important
with them love is shown.

I go outside and hope for rain
its gentle, calming sound,
but for now it's just the wind
as I look down at the ground.
