A bride and groom in color
She looks up lovingly at a
tall thin dude wearing a white carnation
The dude is me
I'm the luckiest guy on the planet
Taken nearly fifty years ago
Both have gray hair today
She is more beautiful each day
In front Grandma and Mom
In the middle my step dad
Yet another hero in my life
It was snowing and slippery
We walked home carrying groceries
Walking was our transportation
The man a small man stopped
"Fern, let me take you home!"
"I can't let you he will hurt you."
But he did and later married Mom
Five foot four he stood up to Dad
A giant monster six foot six
This little man built skyscrapers
An iron man walking high above
But it was Mom he did love
He doesn't remember much today
Ninety four he is in his final years
But on that day he was my hero
He was afraid of my dad and yet,
"If you touch again that woman
or her children I will take you down."
So you see he is in picture five
It is our wedding day and he was my father
