Poetic Verses
Simply Put Down
I have my own style with words
when I try to write a poem,
it may not be full of metaphors
but I feel accomplished, not alone.
I've felt good about my writing
right from the very start,
I put feelings into my words
and my emotions are a part.
I know my poetry is simple
and sometimes not well written,
I'm not good at metaphors
while in my place I'm sittin.
It hurts when I'm put down
and comments have me crying,
I almost decided to quit
but I never did stop trying.
I came back to do my best
no matter what was said,
I may be simple but that's okay
at least my poem gets read.
