Passing

Living amidst the flames
Of your quietest moments,
Dreaming of times you loved
And flowers you gave to others
When the days were filled with trust
And you always had a smile for someone.
I lost the hand I held for so long
As the winter months were passing by.
Your eyes still searched mine until the end
Until the moment of your final crossing.
The day was wrapped in golden light
When you went to dwell in heaven,
You slept like a  child until the time
When you gently said your last goodbye.
