A Sad Goodbye
Never to see your face again,
gone without a clue,
I knew we had been meant
but others blocked my way to you.
We had to go our separate ways
although I would miss you so,
my heart was broken at that point,
I cried out, "Please don't go!"
In my heart I loved you,
but there was nothing I could do,
I am thankful for the kindness
that brought my life anew.
Left as a memory to adore,
you showed me so much care,
all the times that I'd been hurt
you were always there.
