Emotional Abuse
Teardrops begin to fall
upon a heart of tenderness,
raw emotion as it flows
a tearful journey nonetheless.
Suffering from emotional abuse
deep tears that fall like rain,
look up to one in pure love
only to live in so much pain.
Emotionally hurt by another being
without so much as care,
the abuser falls to shame
as teardrops still fall there.
teardrops down a swollen cheek
words that cut like a sharp knife,
a shedding of a different kind
words have stained an innocent life.
