Poetic Verses

Destructive Child

Here is the maiden all forlorn
but where is the cow with the crumpled horn?
The pages were torn and all over the room,
"My goodness, will somebody get me a broom."
My favorite book has been destroyed
without a care, I'm so annoyed.
The house that Jack built is no more
once again I must buy it at the store.
The styrofoam plane let this be a clue,
towards Jacks house it must have flew.
I found styrofoam pieces all over the place,
another toy gone that I don't want to replace.
It's obvious now, I can't find Jack,
"How can I put those pages back?"
The styrofoam plane had not a chance,
I saw it only at a glance.
Styrofoam isn't hard to smash,
I threw those pieces in the trash.
I loved that book, it was fun to read,
oh well! now I know that I must take heed.
