Poetic Verses
My Tourette Syndrome
I laid down and began to cry
and asked myself "why oh why?"
"Why do I have these awful tics?"
first appeared when I was six.
I try to suppress it to ease the pain
It's an imbalanced chemical in the brain.
It doesn't work well to suppress
my tourette syndrome does depress.
Involuntary moving all about
sometimes words I have to shout.
I hate my life because I twitch
every so often a tic will switch.
At one point I'm shaking my head
then I'm rapidly blinking my eyes instead.
Facial grimacing, shoulder shrugging
the way I'm looked at is really bugging.
Vocal tics, a barking sound
it's hard to have other people around.
I calm down by taking a pill
it works good my tics are nil.
and asked myself "why oh why?"
"Why do I have these awful tics?"
first appeared when I was six.
I try to suppress it to ease the pain
It's an imbalanced chemical in the brain.
It doesn't work well to suppress
my tourette syndrome does depress.
Involuntary moving all about
sometimes words I have to shout.
I hate my life because I twitch
every so often a tic will switch.
At one point I'm shaking my head
then I'm rapidly blinking my eyes instead.
Facial grimacing, shoulder shrugging
the way I'm looked at is really bugging.
Vocal tics, a barking sound
it's hard to have other people around.
I calm down by taking a pill
it works good my tics are nil.
