Simple My Words
Simple my words battle today
A better man I too would say
For beauty is all that he writes
Well schooled poet of dark and light
A heart once his he misses so
A heart now mine I won't let go
This love of ours that keeps us both
Awake at night filled with life's hope
I came to know him well before
She came and knocked upon my door
Leaving hand prints that left her mark
Upon my soul with life she sparked
Joust I cannot win with words
Nor would I try looking absurd
But if it meant I would need to
I'd summon strength to guide me through
His works read like fine penned love letters
Inspiring me to be much better
But if in write the line was drawn
I'd cross Hells fire my heart has sworn
He is true poet, a gentleman
Who as of late with writes he tends
Wounds inflicted some self imposed
The road taken, the path he chose
Though heart mine knows the fallout here
I'd fight to win her I love dear
Just to prove she is no less
Loved by me upon heart pressed
