Immigration
At what stage of development would some countries be without Immigration
It would be hard to find an answer that question
Time has show that great development strides of many a nation
And one of those factors was because of their policy of immigration.
Just look at the great strides and impact it made to as Super Power
The contribution of immigrants has been a factor in its many towers
Who can remember the influx of all those renown scientists
Whose great inputs and inventions started this important process
So be it manufacturing, computer programming research and medicine
Or areas like biochemistry so supporting they were contributing
One can see the great fame and glory they brought to the USA
That stroke is what makes it such a great power and nation today.
In those early days of immigration, they set about constructing building
That would have bring memories of those in they departed country
Now aftertime some places engage in a form of restoration
And turn such areas into worthwhile tourists' attractions.
There is one thing about the American nation is very cosmopolitan
Being embraced readily and given citizenship, gives one the inclination
To work hard and as one accede to those rights enshrine in the constitution
So if your ancestry is from the Caribbean, Europe or Asia, you are an accepted American,
I use USA as my example because in almost every sphere I can see some representative
From all members of its population, no matter what thus showing no bias divisive
The happiness showing on the faces as they beam with pride
Happy to represent the country in which they now acceptably reside.
What would become of such a large land mass ?
Would you think that it could have developed so fast?
Suppose in those day it has imposed some stringent restriction
Would it have become one of the world most powerful nations?
But alas when there is a great movement of people en mass
As always there is that tendency to hold on to something of the past
Resorting to that comfort zone, which is enmeshed in the culture
Not wanting to improve or attempt to do anything much better.
But what is some noticeable about immigration I can gleam
Sometimes attract workers from the two extremes
Today those working at the lower extreme tend to work most often
Doing those menial tasks where some members of the population think are beneath them.
Now as countries grow and the populace seem to be able to handle
All those area from which immigrant were given the mantle
Even with the imposition of some restriction some still have the tenacity
To somehow enter and for a long time remain illegally.
