Moving On
Your fill of life went sour in taste
A bad movie but you never got out
of your seat
Thinking if you stayed to read the
credits you'd see your name there
Hard pressed for love becomes the
wall you never got over
and you waste time looking for a way
around it
Having given it your best shot
you decide to move on now
A little grayer, much wiser but
scared of your new role in life
You summon strength not yours to
guide you and pray your voice is heard
Brokenness is embraced like a bitter pill
Today your meds no longer taken
Moving on becomes the point of no return
as your sighs accompany you to the unknown
A place one's yet to journey, with thoughts
of moving on
