 Pending Flight
His was to be the first of many trips
long awaited with heartfelt thoughts

Wondered he would of who would go with him
and labored what if they did not want to

Would he sympathize with their reason?

None the less it was time to launch as
he was paged to take flight

He would fly past many a light in the sky
knowing he was not alone and would return
with someone, but who?

He failed to arrive at the briefing on time
and missed reading the details of his
itinerary, none the less he would arrive
at his destination with grace and the love
of his father

There before him stood a woman, with locks of Golden Brown
Too young to be called home he thought
Her beauty was his downfall upon approaching
her with caution

Formalities where in order but time was not his
to have, nor hers

Her back turned towards him allowed him to wrap
his wings of pearl white, there she would dream
and fall into his arms, her soul, his mission

Love became birthed in embrace on his return home
Her in arms, asleep, his sleeping beauty
He was mesmerized throughout his return
and fell in love with what he could not have
for it was forbidden and there were others
to be brought home

Throwing caution into the wind, he kissed her anyway
and watched her become stardust at rest, his peace,
His Heaven
