 When doubts confound
When doubts confound and shadows haunt;
When your courage falters and fears daunt;
Lift up your head, and observe the battle around;
For the heroism and sacrifice of others abound!

See the brave soul leaping into the jaws of death;
Just so his dear loved one may draw another breath!
See the parent who gave all for their child,
Returning ingratitude and abuse with patience mild.

Think you your trials are harsh, your burden unjust?
Then ponder those whose bellies cry for only a crust!
No matter the foes which enshroud you with fear;
Take heart my friend, and lift up a cheer!

Know you not this battle is already won?
Read the good word, view the life of the Son!
All we must do is have faith and believe,
Then His power and wisdom receive!

We crawl when we should leap, whimper when we should shout!
Praise God Almighty, and drive the vanquished out!
We are the victors, it matters not how the battle rages;
See for yourself, its scribed on holy pages!
