Two Hickey Necks on a Bus- or -Ode to Teen aged Love

Theirs
was an endless four-poster bed
of love.
Never mind
that they never minded
that they had no mind.
They left
they swept away
the crumbs of the past
bare thread-count sheets
were their repast.
Romeo and Juliet couldn't make it last
but
they slept entangled
four eyes star-spangled.
Their arms and legs
macramaed into
a blissful lover's knot.
Yes
they were caught
and liked the cell.
They knew each others half so very
well.
A clanging bell
sounded
echoed then resounded
the whole
the toll
of their love.
The two young doves so
sweetly smothered
were so much
like sister, brother.
Ardor almost knocked them
flat.
These two barefoot fools
on a welcome mat.
