 Water Bug
Skimming along the surface of the pond;
Dancing relentlessly; never ever stopping.
Watching you as you move ever so quickly;
Water bug, I'm wondering why? Is it fear?
Is it that bass just under the surface waiting;
Or is it that you just don't want to know?
Never really stopping to sense the water;
Never experiencing the thrill of exploration.
Lightly across the water, never immersing;
I'm wishing you could drink from the fountain.
Too sweet are the subtle under currents;
Water bug, I'm wondering why? Is it fear?
Never knowing the pleasure of the pond;
Never allowing yourself a moment of peace.
Dancing , driven by obsessive compulsions;
Never smelling, tasting, hearing, seeing, feeling.
Sensual romance is never an option with you;
You must dance, skipping across the pond.
Why can't you just stop for a minute or two;
Water bug, I'm wondering why? Is it fear?
