As their faces flashed across the pages of my memories
i recalled the many tears i cried
where the dark seemed endless
Those weary nights when i longed for the dawn
only to face my sorrowful mornings....
I waited
but not always patiently
for my joy to arrive
for sure I knew my weeping
was to my God
I faced each new day
bearing the heaviness of my woes
I longed to be released
from the physical pain my body had come to know
I hungered and thirsted for emotional freedom
I laughed when the list of autoimmunes arrived instead
the very thought that my own body
had turned against me
I truly found it quite musing.
Yet in-spite of the madness
of mind and body
YOUR PROMISES
that had been sown into my heart and mind
began to gain strength
At the edge of being defeated
THE SPIRIT in me revived -NO- came ALIVE
like dynamite I exploded
In my weaknesses battles were being won
and I found my crying heart twirling
and dancing with new songs...
FOR ONE LIKE THE SON of GOD
appeared in the presence of every enemy
protecting me in my furnace of affliction!
So I ask again....
How can i hate
what has caused my greatest gain?
