If you wish to be
known to me,
take off that mask
or is that too much a task?
Let me see if your eyes
are sincere under the disguise,
they are the window to the soul
reflecting good or evil.
For if evil is inside
it's something you can not hide,
i much prefer to see who i'm talking to
is that too much to ask of you?
Some people often too proud hide behind a smile
coming off better than thou,
but in the end true colors will show
a lasting impression everyone will come to know.
Afraid to let their guard down and be weak
cause it's power they wish to seek,
but power over one's life one must earn
one must give power in return.
So just be true to yourself and others around you everyday
that's what a better person would do anyway,
then the mask you won't have to wear anymore
cause your true self will show for sure.
Maybe you'll even be surprised
at what you've disguised,
it may be a person worth knowing
that all this time could have been showing!
