ANOTHER SLEEPLESS NIGHT OF PAIN
Another sleepless night of pain
The shooting pains in these old legs
Little bolts of lighting that strike
Never ready for those sudden jolts
These unrelenting tightening cramps
Nothing seems to ease them at all
No matter in what positions you lay
There's no comfort or relief either
And you pray that soon it will stop
So I sit back in my recliner chair
Elevate these tired old legs again
Asking God to please ease this pain
Eventually I'll doze off for awhile
Getting little relief from the jolts
But I manage to get in a short nap
I will never get a good nights sleep
Not like those past restful respites
The kind I use to have before the war
