Take Me To Your Heart
It is said nothing lasts forever
how true with love I have found
But it is only because before
truth was not the uttered sound
So much I fear
of the past to again be my test
I need for you find ways
to calm my hearts unrest
There are so many walls to climb
so much distance to close
Never before have I received anything
but the thorns of love's rose
I fight fear every day
desperately wanting to just let go
To void all the past
that has issued a mighty blow
Take me to your heart
tell me this is so
Hold me safe and close
never let me go
I cautiously sip from the cup
when its openly offered to me
While I wish to totally bathe
in a love shown so free.
Take me to your heart
make it all disappear
Show me now finally
I have nothing to fear
No matter the distance
by your side I would stay
Just take me to your heart
forever and a day
