INDIAN  TRAIL

WAY UP IN THE MOUNTAINS ,
TWO HORSES CAN BE SEEN
INCHING DOWN THE SNOWY TRAIL
INTO A DEEP AND SLIPPERY RAVINE

ONE HORSE CARRIES A MEDICINE MAN,
THE OTHER HORSE-- HIS SQUAW.
THE EVERGREENS STAND HEAVY,
WITH SNOWFALL ON THEIR BOUGHS.

WHO KNOWS WHERE THEY'RE  GOING,
BUT THEY'RE WELL ON THEIR WAY
TRYING TO BEAT THE WINTER THAW
THAT COULD HAPPEN ANY DAY

THERE'S A COUGAR IN THE MOUNTAIN
YOU HAVE TO LOOK CAREFULLY
AMONG THE SNOWY PEAKS HE HIDES
LOOK  HARD  AND YOU WILL SEE.
