Of Empty Pews and Great Divide
The Church doors open less today and you weep
Division seems to be perpetrator of
this onslaught
Carnage of souls once in pews are still
visible to your eyes innocent
Prayer is the word today to bring what has
gone astray, yours seem never ending and
always heard by The Creator
The Pastor too has left and as did the
Youth leader, seems the enemy is having
a feast of many today, except you
You who faints with concerns valid but,
Hold to Him who knows your heart and that
of His people who seem to have their own agenda
today
Maybe this flock has been sacrificed to bring
the unfaithful to their knees
Here is where He does His best work, reminding all
that without Him they can do nothing, less be nothing
Your place of sanctuary is sacred but more sacred
is He who is omnipresent, His house of worship
will fill again, maybe not today
Keep Him in your heart as you have done always
There, within you is His house
where ties cannot be severed
unless you choose to do so
Let not one more be lost today, believe
daughter to the King of Kings
Be of good cheer, for joy will allow
His face to be seen upon yours in this storm
In this divide... In this storm... In these empty pews
