He Has been gone to long
Lost never to come back
Where is that man so full of song
Traveling far with his war sack
Young bold and brave was he
That face once in my mirror
Why can't that person I see
The world before him to conquer
Now all to see is old and grayed
Sick, tired and lost in dreams
Wanting his youthful life to be replayed
Wishing for life different then it now seems
Oh those days that seemed so long
How short now time have grown
Countless weeks, months and years gone
Moving faster ever faster towards the tombstone
Why must we grow old and frail
Unable to enjoy the golden years
But alas to complain is to no avail
Live life fully and hold back the tears
He has been gone to long
Never to come back
Where is that man so full of song
Traveling far with his war sack
