 Chattering Monkeys
Sitting in meditation today, the static was strong;
Unable to settle my thoughts down, my mind racing.
Attempting to sit through this, I began to watch;
As the chattering monkeys were active as I sat.
Swinging from tree to tree, thought to thought;
Looking directly into my minds eyes and grinning.
One of them stopped for a moment and waved at me;
Then he joined the rest of the chattering monkeys.
As I sat watching, I began to see the separation;
My scattered mind seen from the stand of witness.
Realizing that this is the true me, the gentle observer;
Not judging, just watching the chattering monkeys play.
