**Author's Note: This is the final write in a triad of Old English style writing begun with 'Green Eyed Beast', and 'Thou, Raging Man'. The subject matter for all are taken from the Seven Deadly Sins and just sort of happened that way. It's been a challenge and though I feel I stretched my writer's wings a bit, this is definitely NOT my chosen genre to continue in! I do however admire those who use this form creating the masterpieces they do...
From whence doth thine urges stemmeth?
Wast thou birthed in poverty? No!
To what end doth thine unending need taketh thee?
Hath thine acquisitions given thee power over men?
Thine appetence for more belongings doth
enslaveth thee to thine earthly treasures,
yet maketh thy life fearful lest
all becometh lost to thee!
Thou wieldeth thy goods as bribery
over others to maketh men bow to thine illusion;
thy power fleeting, though thy greed seemeth endless.
Dost thou not knoweth thy power is not thine own?
In time it shall returneth to One whom giveth
or seeth fit to taketh away!
Thou needest to heed the parable of the lilies
of the field, lest thy greed obscureth thy dignity
and thy possessions disjoineth thy soul;
until thine eyes may no longer gazeth
upon anything ‘cept those objects
of thine own avariciousness!
