Poetic Verses
To a departed friend
This moment is a very sad occasion
A very well decorated officer has fallen
Know her, she perhaps did not surrender easily
As always this is a fate designated for all humanity
Determined in her vision of growth and purpose of a Laboratory
Re-enforcing in each worker the benefits of growth both academically and professionally
Fortifying this with online courses and quality assurance programs
But the biggest dream was that of seeing the Laboratory acquire an accreditation
One whose motto seemed to be "Strive for excellence."
Never failing to say that in each and every instance
Entrenching in our mind more and more
To also prepare ourselves for the times we may have to work offshore.
Those of us would most certainly remember that occasion
When she handled the situation posed by hurricane Ivan
Like one so well trained in the profession of disaster planning
She made such an unpleasant situation seem so comforting
A tower of strength and so determined to fight
Articulating her points both logically and forthright
But yet will quite willing in a way, give an ear
To listen to any argument to effect a sway
Though she did not live to realize one of her dreams
But have laid the foundation as well as the supporting beams
So that we all can continue building upon and carrying on
Remembering and guided by all the hard work she had done.
How can one really say farewell and adieu
To someone who had made an impact on all those you knew
So therefore even though you are now gone
In us your spirit and legacy will live on.
