MIGHTY  MOUSE

I WAS WATCHING T V. AS I SAT UPON THE FLOOR
WHEN SUDDENLY A MOUSE, CAME  '
ROUND THE KITCHEN DOOR
HE SAT UP ON HIS HIND LEGS AND STARED AT ME.

HE MUST HAVE FOUND AN OPENING,
SOMEWHERE AROUND THE HOUSE.
A RAT- I WOULD HAVE BEEN AFRAID OF,
BUT NOT A LITTLE MOUSE.

WE SIZED EACH OTHER UP AWHILE,
HE WAS BRAVE AS HE COULD BE,
HE DIDN'T KNOW TWO CATS LIVE HERE,
THEY SHARE THE HOUSE WITH ME.

WE HAD A SILENT MOMENT
BEFORE I MOVED A BIT
I THOUGHT I'D SEE WHAT HE WOULD DO
IF THE HARDWOOD FLOOR , I'D HIT.

HE ALMOST HAD A HEART ATTACK
HE BACK FLIPPED IN MID AIR
AND LANDED ON ALL FOUR FEET
AND TOOK OFF OUT OF THERE

THE NEXT WEEK, HE WAS BACK AGAIN
SO I CAUGHT HIM ON THAT DAY
I USED AN OLD OATMEAL BOX,
AND RELEASED HIM IN A FIELD TO PLAY

I STILL DON'T KNOW HOW HE GOT IN
BUT HE WAS  BRAVE AND CUTE AS CAN BE
HOWEVER, I DIDN'T WANT HIM OR OTHERS
TAKING UP RESIDENCE WITH ME
