Lost in a Moment
Sitting in meditation with my dog Quest;
Seeking out the wisdom of the ages.
Unable to focus my thoughts, adrift in a sea of images;
I feel myself lost in a moment.
I free fall into the darkness of my mind,
As it triggers a primal fear in my soul.
Vivid and fast, like lightning ripping across the evening sky;
I feel myself lost in a moment.
Unable to tether my thoughts, I am seduced;
Stripping me of the veneer of civilization.
No longer sure of the validity of what I've been taught;
I feel myself lost in a moment.
Spinning deeper, being swallowed up by my passions;
I release into the moment with the fullness of myself.
Standing naked at the edge of the wilderness, anticipating;
I feel myself lost in a moment.
The forest calls me by my name… it knows me;
The fear subsides, now replaced by love.
Running into the open arms of this unknown;
I feel myself lost in a moment.
Suddenly, warmth and peace surround my soul;
I'm cradled by the force that now shapes my reality.
I relax… this is my destiny, no longer fighting…
I feel myself lost in a moment.
