IT'S THE DAY AFTER X'MAS

AND ALL THROUGH THE HOUSE,
NOT A MUSCLE IS STIRRING
IN THE WHOLE DARN HOUSE

GIFT WRAP AND RIBBONS
ALL OVER THE FLOOR,
JUST WAITING FOR SOMEONE
TO PUT OUT OF THE DOOR .

EVERYONE SLEEPING SNUG IN THEIR BED,
WHILE  VISIONS OF PRESENTS
DANCE THROUGH THEIR HEAD

NOBODY'S HUNGERY, THEY'RE
FILLED TO THE GILLS

 JUST MOM AND POP
ANTICIPATING THE BILLS.

THE TURKEY , HALF EATEN
LIES INSIDE THE FRIDGE DOOR
A DOLLUP OF DRESSING
RECLINES ON THE FLOOR

WE WORKED SO HARD ,
TO MAKE EVERYTHING SO NEAT
AND NOW HERE WE SIT
WITH THIS MESS AT OUR FEET,

BUT EVERY YEAR , IT'S THE SAME OLD STORY
WE REVEL IN THE PLEASURE
OF THE X'MAS GLORY
AND ALL THAT GOES WITH IT, IS WHAT WE TREASURE
SO,--MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL ,IT'S BEEN A GREAT PLEASURE
