When Sentiment Has Its Way
A double edged sword at times can be
Hard is the thrust and painfully
Will slay ones heart who demonstrates
Love can burn, hurtful this fate
We're quick to love but not be loved
The very thing we're all made of
Pacing at times for time to come
To undo things in you one's done
Long are the days, longer the nights
Destined it seems to live this plight
But keep the faith that saw you through
There will be love again and true
When sentiment has its way
Be so prepared for it will play
Out the best and worse in you
Making you stronger in time this too
Shut down you may for a short time
Though drag life will, you will be fine
So much so you too shall know
Of love again, in this you'll grow
