 ~REFLECTING MOMENTS~

VACANCY

VACANCY

Upon his curled shoulder
Flakes of dead skin crawl

He reads yesterdays news
Starting at the end
Fast forward to beginning

Reserved and benign

An eyelash balances
On his glasses
Looking at him
It wishes to swallow
His eyes

The mouse in the corner
Runs his man made maze
Starting the end first
To mirror his companion

Truth is cold
Lies cut deep
Love is pain
Hate knows nothing

Tarnished laws

Pet the ugly kitten
Milk the pretty cow

No one sleeps
The stars watch us
They whisper into our ear
Beauty only attracts ugly

Black crows guard his home
They stand at attention
Waiting for his commands

He reads everything and nothing

Paper and books take control
He lays down with them
His mind short circuits
He lays down with them

He only wants peace
But he is his own monster

Perhaps a woman will visit
Not if his skeletons can help it

An old "room for rent" sign swings
In the whistling winds outside
It's aged and dirty

He would like company
But…company would not like him
