a moment in time
as i sit in the cool night air a memory of past comes back to me
a simpler time a place when dreams were all that mattered
as i gaze upon the midnight sky a tear steams down my face
a memory of a time i can not replace a yearning for those days
family and friends all gone taken at a point that seemed just to soon
if only for a moment again with them there would be extreme gratitude
murder, old age, bad timing, all increased pain so here i sit
the cool night air the midnight sky a single tear
for those gone and those never known then a small smile comes into view
like a whisper in my ear those fateful words are played
your stronger than yesterday your meant to be more
remember always the love that was shared and the heart that was made
for an angel is here forever to stay
like a whisper these words ring truth and a heart is healed
the pain remains and the days go by a moment or two
beyond these chains a life is remembered the soul is touched
my heart goes with those that have gone to soon
only to be returned with a simpler tune one day your time will come
and to those you have known and loved it will be to soon
leave with a good grace and a heart of admiration
so here i will sit under the midnight sky
only to know its never as easy as it once seemed
