 once upon a time

johnmcguckin78gmailcomheathergibsonjohnnyduncangeishashadowsontheheart
I’m a four dollar man, no more, no less.
The worries I got are only four dollars worth.
That’s why here, in this hundred dollar land of way to much
I'm walking along on easy street.

No emptiness in my life, I smile every day.
Guess that’s why I feel free.
No worries when you’re a four dollar man.
Not working or getting into debt.
Knowing that this day will pass away
Whilst I stroll along humming a song.
Watching the crowds stream around me some scowling
Others worried, not me. I’m the four dollar man.

One of these days some smart guy is gonna ask,
How come you’re always smiling? won’t believe my reason.

Because I’m the four dollar man every day is a sunny day.
It's the reason the sun always shines
It's because I believe in God's love.
It's because I’ve got a good guy walking alongside me.
His love makes me smile every day, knowing he will provide.
