Baby Boy
Baby Boy
A brand new baby boy
My heart was filled with joy
I picked you up and you cried
To entertain you I really tried
I didn't work for a month or 2
It was fun staying home with you
Sorry that thru your leg I stuck the pin
My happiness was turned into chagrin
And changing diaper that was no fun
So many tasks, But I even conquered that one
Nightly screams invading our sleep
Getting him back to not making a peep
Little airplane spoons, open wide
And when you got older how you'd hide
A monster in the closet, or under the bed
Sliding down and covering with the bedspread
The 3 of us in one room
Cause you felt such doom
How we used to hug and kiss goodnight
The kids at school said it ain't right
And you know in great reflection
I really missed our time of affection
I think you were just 5
But I was glad to be alive
You were my first born
To love you I‘ve sworn
