TOO MUCH BEER
With clatter of empty bottles
These streets are awash
With young and foolhardy
Who represent utter tosh
Drunken screams to awaken
The dead six feet deep
The rest of us attempting
To get eight hours sleep
Two hours after midnight
They holler and cheer
Staggering in gutters
Consumed too much beer
Front gardens are trashed
They climb upon walls
Everyone cheers
When he topples and falls
Dustbins tipped over
Kebab wrappers are ditched
Girls slip off stilettos
With skirts highly hitched
Mascara smeared
Lip gloss awry
Boys in low-hung trousers
Consciences blithe
Tomorrow no apologies
A sore head at best
Tonight will be another occasion
To put sobriety to the test
