 NIGHT   AIR

Park bench with newspaper
To call a bed
Pitch black and
Freezing cold

Rigid with fright
Can't sleep the night
Eerie silence
This is not home

Night air bites
And limbs get stiff
Footsteps out there
To be wary of

Few possessions
Stuffed in an old bag
Nothing of value
To be used as a pillow

No warmth
No nightcap
No one to wish goodnight
Lonely night air
