A place to dine, today lunch time
Became colder for I'd not find
The face that shared table for two
The hand I held and face stroked too
The ambiance was just not there
For without her at walls I'd stare
Blank was my face as waitress stood
Waiting for me to order food
I'd tell her please a minute more
You see in thought was the front door
Where hope I would she'd walk soon through
Alas the moment would turn soon blue
You see she cannot be where I am now
But hold I will her close somehow
As bowl of Chili now goes cold
This lunch hour mine alone time stole
