A day of terrible danger frightfully dawns,
wickedness and horror traces the skies with
icy foreboding hands as tribulation looms
dark and dreary over the astonished land
foretelling evil and turbulent times as the
frightful sound of cannons crash and bombs
burst over the stony ramparts to begin a bloody
clash between right and wrong thrusting civil
war upon the nation.
Donavon Scott Vinson
~~This poem is about the start of the U.S. Civil War
which began with the attack on Ft. Sumter, South Carolina
by the Confederacy in 1861~~
