 16. Zombie Giggle (memory poem)
One never knows
How funny
The world
Can be
Until your
A zombie.

Poems about
Eating food
And flesh
Take on
A WHOLE
New meaning.

Reflecting
The inner most
Core of one's
One fellow
Human beings
Is seen
Immediately.
Some reflect
Laughter,
Giggles,
Others
Shock & horror.

An elderly
Asian woman
Catches my eye
At a stop light.
This Zombie
Sits atop
Her scooter
Chariot…
Something fast
To catch
Her prey,
And smiles
As the blood
Drips from
Her chin…
The Asian woman
Smiles UNTIL
She sees the
Ashen face,
And turns stoic,
Almost angry!
Mercilessly
I laugh
& Laugh
Until it dies down
To fits of giggles.

I beg the Divine
For mercy,
As I snicker
In Zombie
Fashion…
I must have
Been
Quiet
A sight!!!

You never know
How hilarious
The world can be,
Taking itself
Too seriously
Until you're
A zombie…
