A friend will go the distance
and know your subtle hints,
without saying a word they know
cause your feelings clearly show.
They just give,give and give
and your shortcomings they forgive,
but a friend is only human too
imperfect just like you.
When you have a true friend you learn
trust and respect you must earn,
you give all you've got
to give them lo and behold
you get it back tenfold.
Friends can rock
away the blues with just a talk,
much to your surprise
the tears may be gone from your eyes.
Don't ever be too busy
to hold out your hand
cause they can be gone
in a second you hadn't planned,
make them feel all warm and snug
always have time to give them
a well deserved hug!
