Sacred title in honour
Heros and poets the same
Audience grace halls of thought
Crowns pleasing Apollo's name
A degree bestows appointment
Sovereign seats forever to fill
The Laureate's role by far
Over ages and countries still
To cast words upon the wind
Capturing sentimental sets
Customary revival of verses
In ages past now precedents
Sacred title in honour
Heros and poets the same
Come hither destiny's waiting
Poet Laureate's do utter your name
