  19. 5 Died
5 died
So that hundreds,
Potentially thousands,
Could be saved.
Remember when
Black Americans
Died and no one
Noticed?
Oh wait…
Martin Luther
Had a Dream,
And we are
Still dreaming
Of a Utopia
Our collective
Good hearts
Are still longing for.
When will
Every death matter,
As if it were
Our own family
Member?

It could be today,
If we wished it
To be.

If those who
Were thinking
Of ending their life
Got to feel
What happened
To others
Before making the
Final decision
There would be so
Many less
Suicides in the world,
For they would
Find out
Who and how
They were connected
To people
Around the world
And around
The neighborhoods
They lived in…

No such thing
Exists,
But in a poets
Imagination…
And in Visionary
Dreams…

We must find
Ways to help
Them know…
We are connected
We care
& they are loved,
No matter
What gender
They love,
We love
Them.
