What God Did for Us
We were once so foolish,
With being devilish;
So deceived and misled,
Through lustful pleasure fed.
We were so mean and rude,
With a bad attitude;
Being full of envy,
Of lustful jealousy.
Full of hate and despised,
That could not be disguised;
Since it did not appear,
Having any cause to fear.
But with kindness and love,
For mankind from above;
God saved us with His grace,
And mercy to embrace.
God poured out His Spirit,
Not because of the merit;
That each of us has done,
But rather for His Son.
If we give up the lust,
And give Him our trust;
Eternal life is assured,
As His blessings are poured.
