Harry Sweeden. My life in verse.

All I may choose...?

candles flicker… casting a warming shadow
while the music plays softly and smooth
moonlight reflects through blinds twisted and broken
as I wonder of all I may choose?
I may choose that tomorrow be a day of repentance
and be grateful for each breath I take
to swim in the colours this great world has given
and float on the dreams I may make
I could walk in the forest and watch the deer running
maybe bathe in the warmth of the sun?
or I could walk in the rain and enjoy every shower
that the earth and I … are at one
I could also choose to feel sorrow and cry for the sunrise
and fear for the darkness of night
never knowing the beauty the moonlight surrenders
nor the wonders that nature gave sight
the choices are wide and all ours for the choosing
the consequence of which will come clear
always question your options if your heart wishes wiser
and if this life is what you hold dear?
