~And I Painted Her Sitting There~
(Glossa)

~Cabeza~

I hailed me a woman from the street,
Shameless,but Oh, so fair!
I bade her sit in the model's seat
And I painted sitting there.

(From: "My Madonna"by Robert W. Service)

She's the girl that now I can't forget,
I was in love,from the first moment my eyes on her set;
Speak to her I wanted, she told me her name was Janette,
I hailed me a woman from the street.

Her features so perfect with eyes of sky-blue sapphire,
She smiled at me, and set my heart on fire!
I couldn't help myself but only to her admire,
Shameless, but oh, so fair!

Week after week, she just sat there looking so great,
She was the most exquisite creature, I have to state,
I wanted her pastel paintings to beautify my canvas and mat,
I bade her sit in the model's seat...

We talked and laughed and our souls we bare,
But time passed, and my hours of happiness with her snare.
She's far away now,and yet, she's closer to me and always so fair
And I painted her sitting there.
