Cadmium Yellow
For joy and sunshine
And hearing the laughter
In a gay child's

They were saved
By sacrificing
Yellow sticks
To the sidewalk

My investment
In a happier
Future
With that
Child in it.
My chalks
Are meant to be used
Not saved.
GLBT kids
Are not meant to
Be abused,
But saved,
And cherished…
So I will chalk
Today,
Even if there's
No chalk tomorrow,
There will
Still be you
In this world,
And I think
The sticks
Of Rainbow colors
Are happy
To be the martyrs
For the cause
