Poetic Verses
This Christmas
We are fast approaching the end of yet another year
As human beings let us extend our good cheer
Not showering all those gifts on only family and friends
Let us go beyond that boundary and to all parts of the earth let it extends
Carefully and lovingly place on the knees your sons or daughters
Yes nothing wrong in telling them about some of the world's disasters
Not to cause fear, but to highligh that because of these unfotunate matters
Some little boys and girls do not have either mothers or fathers
Let them be aware that somethings can occur naturally
Such like the earthquake that devastated the island of Haiti
So therefore you will like them to make a contribution
To bring some joy to children trapped in an unfortunate situation.
As adults whilst we spend those many hours socialising
Partying. dancing and as always the usual gourmandising
Be mindful, and fix a cost on the waste we may generate
Then think about how much joy somewhere that money could initiate.
What about many of those expensive gifts given
Sometimes they are placed somewhere and completely forgotten
I know it will hurt on seeing it has gone to oblivion
But surely somewhere there is someone who would have shown a much better appreciation.
Some of our teenagers want to tell you plain
They would wear only clothes made under a certain brand name
How fortunate they are to have this sort of luxury
Whilst at this time of the year someone is wearing rags with no variety.
Many times the siblings are getting in each other's face
Quarrelling and making noise about who is in the other's space
The should know that somewhere some people are so huddled
Trying to endure the condtions,even thought it is troubled
So therefore let us make a pact to reduce this year's squandermania
This Christmas let us change the usual festive scenerio
Taking the time to make a very worthwhile contribution
