I bow to the Goddess Jwalamukhi
Who is seated on a volcanic mountain
On the triple pedestal of blazing fires,
Wearing flaming clothes and bright gems.
Having three eyes, with a beautiful face,
Holding in her hands an arrow, a lotus,
Gestures of boon giving and fear dispelling,
She is of the form of awake-awareness,
The cause of light in everything!
~*~
In the center of a six-fold chakra of day and night
In the middle of a sixteen petal lotus of the Moon
I saw her beautiful form with large swelling breasts,
And her face resembling the rising lustrous moon.
She is holding in her left hand a lotus-seed rosary,
In her right hand the gesture of dispelling fear,
And her beautiful abdomen marked with three folds,
Like a particle of the rising moon, with
Three beautiful eyes and a crescent on her crest,
She is swaying with wine-intoxication and
She is surrounded by Maidens of flames!
~*~
I bow to Jwalamukhi of transcendent majesty,
In the Sun and stars she is blazing with splendor
In the Moon she is cool and pure like the camphor;
At the time of final dissolution she becomes Kali,
The Goddess of billions of black blazing fires.
Verily, She is the mother of three worlds:
The ash produced by Jvalamukhi's fire is not only
The ash of all material things at the end of time
But also the ash left after her blissful intercourse
With Lord Shiva the Auspicious God of Eternal Time.
May that ash grant us all desires and liberation!
~*~
Hrim Srim Obeisance to the Goddess of Cosmic fire!
Let us be aware of the fiery form of Jwala Mukhi,
Let us meditate on the consumer of universe,
May that holy fire direct our thoughts!
