  October's Child

Wind Songs From You

I stood outside your thoughts by a No Trespassing sign
You quietly observed me from your mask of sun
I secured your every word within my mind
Fascinated, I saved them one by one

Through a mirrored reflection, I touched your face
Placing the expression inside my emerald eyes
Empty years had lead me to winter's hollow place
A time without caring, cloaked in summer's disguise

I slept, thru midnight meadows; a shade in two worlds
The caricature part framed well
Asleep in life's sketching without love's penciled swirls
Cartography of silence; language without a tale

You painted me in patterns of checkerboard skies
Erasing dark edges; tender layers of blue
Your smile soon penetrated this frail disguise
Now wrapped in gentle breezes;
                           wafted wind songs,
                                            from you

Chansons de vent de vous
