As a child, I said that bedtime prayer
Believing God heard me way up there
Every child has their own special way
To communicate with God each day
After I invited Jesus into my heart
God allowed me to see on my part
That prayer was a form of repetition
I learned to bring Him my petitions
My faith in Jesus was eternally secure
I knew I would go to heaven for sure
He was already the keeper of my soul
As Savior, His blood made me whole
I realize adult Christians say that prayer
But as thanks for God saving them there
Not to ask God their soul to take at death
Believers have no fear of their final breath
Growing up, I remember singing this song
I found it on You Tube and I pass it long
Thank You, Lord, for saving my soul
Thank You, Lord, for making me whole
John 14:2-3 (NIV)
In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so,
I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a
place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you,
I will come back and take you to be with me that you also
may be where I am.
2 Corinthians 5:8 (NIV)
We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from
the body and at home with the Lord.
